Easter no-sugar sugar cookies made with SPLENDA sweetener, decorated in pastel colors and cut into bunny, egg, flower, and carrot shapes on a white surface These no-sugar sugar cookies are just as sweet and buttery as the originals — without any of the sugar. Decorate them any way you like for Easter.

🌷 Why These Are Our Go-To Easter Cookies

Made specifically for baking, SPLENDA Granulated Sweetener not only tastes just like sugar but measures cup for cup like the real thing. It stays sweet at high temperatures, which means it works beautifully in cookies, muffins, breads, and anywhere else you normally use sugar. The result is a cookie that has all the flavor and crispness of a traditional sugar cookie with a fraction of the calories and carbohydrates.

With a texture similar to a buttery shortbread, these cookies hold their shape beautifully when cut, making them ideal for detailed Easter cookie cutters. We found an adorable set with a bunny, egg, flower, and carrot shape — they practically scream spring.

    🐇 Perfect For:

    • Easter cookie decorating with kids — hands-on and fun at any age
    • Easter baskets as a lower-sugar alternative to store-bought candy

Easter no-sugar sugar cookies made with SPLENDA for baking, cut into spring shapes and decorated with pastel icing on a cooling rack A mix of cookie cutter shapes turns a simple dough into an Easter cookie platter. These hold their shape beautifully thanks to the chill step.

🥣 How to Make the Cookie Dough

The dough comes together quickly and requires just a few pantry staples. The combination of all-purpose flour and cake flour gives you the perfect balance of structure and tenderness. The small amount of vinegar in the recipe helps activate the baking powder for just the right amount of lift without making the cookies cakey.

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a cookie sheet or line with parchment paper and set aside.

    2. In a medium mixing bowl using an electric mixer or by hand, blend together the vegetable oil spread, SPLENDA Granulated Sweetener, and vanilla extract until completely combined.

    3. Add the egg, water, and vinegar. Mix briefly until just combined.

    4. Add both flours, salt, and baking powder. Mix on low speed until a dough forms. Do not overmix — stop as soon as the flour is incorporated.

    5. Place dough on a lightly floured work surface and divide into two equal balls. Pat each half into a thick disc and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for about 1 hour or until firm enough to roll out cleanly.

    💡 Dough Tip:

If your dough feels too soft or sticky after mixing, do not add more flour. Instead, chill it a bit longer. The cold firms up the fats and makes rolling much easier. You can also chill the cut-out shapes on the baking sheet for 10 to 15 minutes before baking if your kitchen is warm — this helps the cookies hold their shape.

    🐣 Roll, Cut, and Bake

Once the dough has chilled, roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with your Easter cookie cutters of choice and transfer to your prepared baking sheet. Re-roll the scraps gently to cut a few more.

    6. Roll out chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with your cookie cutters and place on the prepared baking sheet.

    7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until very lightly browned on the back. The tops should stay pale. Cool slightly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before decorating.

    🎨 Decorating Ideas:

For sugar-free decorating, try Splenda’s Sweet ‘n Simple Powdered Sugar Glaze or search Splenda.com for zero and low-sugar frosting recipes. For a quick option, make your own sugar-free powdered sweetener by blending SPLENDA Granulated with 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch per cup in a high-speed blender until fine and powdery, then mix with a few drops of milk and food coloring. Pastel pinks, yellows, greens, and purples are perfect for spring.

💡 Why SPLENDA Works So Well in Cookies:

SPLENDA Granulated Sweetener measures cup for cup like real sugar and stays sweet at high baking temperatures. It reduces the calorie and carbohydrate count in your favorite baked goods without changing the taste or texture. In this recipe, it creates a cookie with a beautiful shortbread-like crumb that is crisp on the edges and tender in the center.

    ❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these cookies ahead of time?

Yes. The dough can be refrigerated for up to 2 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Baked, undecorated cookies store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Decorate on the day you plan to serve them for the freshest look.

Can I use butter instead of vegetable oil spread?

The original Splenda recipe calls for vegetable oil spread, which gives the cookies their tender shortbread-like texture and keeps the saturated fat lower. You can substitute butter, but the cookies will be slightly richer and may spread a touch more during baking. Chill the dough a bit longer if using butter.

    Why two types of flour?

The combination of all-purpose flour and cake flour is what gives these cookies the perfect balance of structure and tenderness. All-purpose flour provides enough gluten for the cookies to hold their cut-out shape, while cake flour keeps the crumb delicate and fine. Using only all-purpose flour would make them tougher.

Are these cookies safe for diabetics?

Each undecorated cookie has about 7 grams of carbohydrates and only 1 gram of sugar, which is significantly lower than a traditional sugar cookie. As always, check with your healthcare provider about what fits your individual dietary needs.

    Can I make these gluten-free?

Yes. Substitute a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend for both the all-purpose and cake flour. The texture will be slightly more delicate, so handle the dough gently and chill it well before rolling. Bob’s Red Mill and King Arthur both make reliable gluten-free blends that work well for cut-out cookies.

72 Would You Rather Questions For Tweens

Would You Rather Questions For Tweens

Ok y’all, this might be a little silly… but honestly, sometimes silly is exactly what we need.

With warm weather around the corner (or long weekends, or carpool lines that feel never-ending), I’m always looking for easy ways to connect with my girls. One of our favorite low-effort, high-reward dinner conversation starters is a good old-fashioned game of Would You Rather.

Even the most eye-rolling, mildly dramatic tween eventually comes around when a question is funny enough. Hailey and Kaitlyn (now 14 and 11… how did that happen?) are wildly imaginative when it comes to making up their own questions. Unfortunately, it often turns into “fun would you rather eat only worms or drink pickle juice?” and spirals quickly from there.

So I like to keep a stash of ready-to-go questions that are silly, creative, a little gross (because let’s be honest, they love that), and occasionally even thoughtful.

If you’re unfamiliar, Would You Rather is simple: present two options and make them choose. No “both,” no “neither.” Just pick. The magic is in the debates that follow.

And as our kids move deeper into the tween years — navigating friendships, technology, independence, and big feelings — I’ve found that simple games like this open doors to surprisingly meaningful conversations.

Timely nuggets of information and ideas we want to share with you.

Why is sourdough bread so popular?

Organic sourdough bread is nutritious and gut friendly.  It has a long fermentation process which acts as a ‘pre-digestion’ and breaks down gluten and anti-nutrients.  It is easier to digest and supports a healthy microbiome and a lower glycemic index than conventional bread

When you care deeply about a cause, it’s powerful to find meaningful ways to support it. In Minnesota this winter — where the temperatures have plunged well below freezing — knitters have rallied around a creative form of protest: knitting red wool “Melt the ICE” hats as a symbol of solidarity with those demonstrating against recent federal immigration enforcement actions and the deaths of protesters.

These hats draw on a long tradition of using craft and art as part of activism, turning something as humble as a handmade cap into a statement of community support and compassion.  If you knit and would like to help, the patterns are being sold by the Minnesota yarn shop Needle & Skein for $5.00.

Good Housekeeping recently had a small article about 3 top-tested cleaners.  They are unusual and worth being shared here.

Scrub Daddy Power is a cleaning paste that is great on grime.  A small dab works quickly on your sink, stove top and more.  $28.99.

If your house becomes engulfed in cooking smells, this candle will replace the odors with fragrant notes of herbs, it’s like magic.  $78.00.

Therapy Clean is a plant-based formula that erases smudges and anything else on your stainless steel.  $19.95.

    Broward Galentine’s Raises Record $120,000 for 4KIDS

On February 13th, nearly 250 women gathered for the 9th Annual Broward Galentine’s Day Luncheon, hosted by BLU by ThriveWell and benefiting 4KIDS. Held at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach, women from across the region came together for an afternoon of inspiration, philanthropy, and purpose—celebrating love and friendship while extending compassion to vulnerable kids and families throughout South Florida.

For guests newer to the mission, the program offered a meaningful look into the heart behind 4KIDS. For almost 30 years, 4KIDS has been creating seats at the table for children and families in need—offering hope, homes, and healing across 13 Florida counties. Through prevention services, licensed foster and residential homes, and specialized trauma-informed therapy and training, children in crisis find the stability and care they deserve.

Kim Sarni of Lifestyle Media Group/South Florida Business & Wealth served as the event’s distinguished Mistress of Ceremonies, and at the center of the program was a powerful conversation between longtime child welfare leader Rochelle Holmes and adoptive mother Connie Burnett, whose story reflects the full circle impact of foster care.

Connie recounted entering foster care as a young girl after experiencing instability at home. Through multiple placements, she eventually met Janene—a caring staff member who became the steady, faithful presence she desperately needed, and whose support changed the course of her life. Years later, moved by that same compassion, Connie said “yes” to fostering alongside her husband, ultimately adopted their son through 4KIDS. Connie’s journey powerfully reflected the luncheon’s message: one courageous “yes” can transform generations.

This year’s event was made possible through generous partners, including BLU by ThriveWell, Moss Foundation, Lou Bachrodt Automotive Group, Neptune Society, Shaping Memories, Lifestyle Media Group/South Florida Business & Wealth, and several others. Their investment helped make the afternoon’s impact possible.

Thanks to the combined generosity of attendees and sponsors, Broward Galentine’s raised more than $120,000, making it the most successful year to date. These funds will support the licensing of new foster families, expand trauma-informed therapeutic services, and strengthen 4KIDS’ robust continuum of care for children, teens, and families across the community.

From heartfelt storytelling to transformative giving, this year’s Broward Galentine’s was a powerful reminder that when women gather with purpose, lives change—and how the impact of one faithful ‘yes’ reaches far beyond the room, creating immeasurably more seats at the table for kids in need.

To discover upcoming events or explore meaningful ways to get involved with 4KIDS, visit 4KIDS.us or email Events@4KIDS.us.

  • What to wear on Easter Sunday (+ for Easter Egg Hunts & Brunch)

What to wear on Easter Sunday (+ for Easter Egg Hunts & Brunch)

I love Easter – especially Easter Sunday. We always go to church and usually have a few Easter egg hunts with the boys in the weeks leading up to Easter Sunday. While your outfit certainly isn’t the main event on Easter, I think it’s special to get a new dress each year. I remember it was always a big deal picking out my Easter dress as a little girl, and I still look forward to it, even at age 41! So, I’ve sourced some beautiful options below that will work for Easter and beyond in the spring and summer months. And if you’re heading to an Easter church service for the first time in a long time (or ever), I’ve got you covered in terms of what to wear, what to avoid, and a few of my favorite picks.

What to wear on Easter Sunday (and for Easter Egg Hunts & Easter Brunch)

What do people wear at Easter?

In general, people tend to dress up for Easter and embrace spring style, even if it’s still a little chilly out. You’ll see a lot of floral dresses, pastel tones, or white outfits. Dresses with ruffles, lace, or soft pleats are popular choices. And layering lightweight jackets like a tweed jacket or a tailored blazer can be helpful if the weather is a bit chilly. If you prefer separates, a blouse paired with a flowy skirt or white jeans can make for a chic and effortless Easter outfit.

What Not to Wear on Easter Sunday

While we’ll be talking about what to wear this Easter, there are, however, a few things to avoid. Dark, heavy fabrics can feel out of place, and overly revealing outfits aren’t appropriate for more formal gatherings or church services. And they also don’t lend themselves very naturally to spring weather anyway. Also, while sneakers can be a comfortable option for egg hunts or casual brunches, avoid overly worn or athletic sneakers. It’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed when it comes to Easter.

How Should I Dress for Easter?

Your Easter outfit should reflect your style while keeping reverence, comfort, and occasion in mind. If you’re attending a formal church service, opt for a knee-length or midi dress with classic detailing like lace or ruffles. A flowy maxi dress or a chic skirt with a tucked-in blouse will work perfectly for a casual Easter brunch or an outdoor gathering.

What Color Should I Wear on Easter Sunday?

When deciding what to wear Easter Sunday, pastel shades such as soft pink, lavender, mint green, and baby blue are traditional Easter colors. White and cream tones also work beautifully, especially with delicate lace details. Floral prints in soft hues are a timeless Easter favorite. If you prefer bolder colors, opt for cheerful tones like coral or yellow.

Can you wear white on Easter?

Yes, absolutely. Easter is actually one of the best times to wear white. It feels fresh, celebratory (as it should be), and in line with the bright colors of spring. Whether it’s a white dress, a white blouse, or even white accessories, it’s a classic choice for Easter Sunday.

What to Wear for Easter Church Services

For church services on Easter, opt for a modest and conservative outfit, keeping in mind that different churches have various dress codes. (Read more tips about what to wear to church in this post.) If you aren’t sure, a knee-length or midi dress in a pastel shade or a floral print is a safe bet. I love this Smocked Seaton Midi Dress and this Woven Floral Print Maxi as two cute dress options.

A blazer or a cardigan can provide a polished finish, especially in cooler weather – this Blush Braided Trim Jacket screams Easter in such a cute pink (you can find the best jackets to wear with your dresses here).

White pants paired with a sophisticated blouse also make a chic alternative for Easter church outfits – here’s a blog post with my favorite white jeans for spring. Choose closed-toe shoes like ballet flats or low heels for a more refined appearance, or wear a flattering pair of sandals. Showing your toes is fine; you just want to be sure your shoes are classy. This pair of Steve Madden block heels is a great, tasteful option.

I also love these Loeffler Randall Mid-Heel Sandals, and I talk about the best dupe for these sandals (and other Loeffler Randall shoes) in this post!

What to Wear for Easter Brunch

Easter brunch is the perfect occasion to wear something stylish yet comfortable. A flowy midi dress with ruffle detailing (maybe the Smocked Seaton Midi from Tuckernuck I linked above) or a wrap-style dress in a cheerful print is always a great choice. Layering with a lightweight cardigan (here’s how to style cardigans) or a cropped blazer adds a touch of sophistication. If you prefer separates, a chic blouse tucked into a skirt or high-waisted white pants creates an effortlessly elegant look. Pair with espadrilles or block heels like these for a brunch-ready outfit.

While I like to wear dresses for church services, I’ll likely wear something like this blazer and denim look for a casual brunch with our family after church. I’d likely do white jeans like these rather than blue (see my favorite white jeans here), but either will work. The pink blazer I’m wearing isn’t carried anymore, but this Blush Braided Trim Jacket might take the cake anyway. These jeans are from Quince – the fit is PERFECT.

    Easter Dresses

While I’ve shared a few of my favorite dresses in the paragraphs above, I wanted to include a few more for those who are shopping. Here are some general ideas if you want to look in your closet, and I’ll include my personal favorites below. If you’re going to be outside a good portion of the day, don’t be afraid of pairing sneakers with a dress. Don’t forget a sunhat, non-toxic sunscreen, or sunglasses if you’ll be outdoors. My favorite affordable sunglasses are this tortoise pair from Amazon.

    Tuckernuck Chloe Dress

I have this Chloe Dress in a perfect lavender color, and it’s the ideal Easter dress. I feel like Jackie O whenever I put it on and get so many compliments. It has a polished silhouette, the perfect thick material, and a great midi length (I wear a small for sizing reference). If you want the same look for less, this Amazon Tuckernuck look for less is perfect.

Dillard’s Woven Floral Print Tiered A-Line Flounce Maxi Dress

This Floral A-Line Maxi is currently at the top of my list for Easter dresses. The length is my favorite (maxi), and the color combo of blue, green, pink, and yellow is so pleasant together, especially as we get further into spring.

Pale Pink Jacquard Janie Mini Dress

Everything about the Pink Jacquard Janie Mini is perfect for Easter. I love the puff sleeves, vibrant florals, mini length, and the classic neckline. You could opt for kitten heels or sandals to pair with this dress.

Hyacinth House Blue and White Midi Hillsborough Dress

The Blue and White Midi Hillsborough Dress is so elegant. The soft blue-and-white palette feels so fresh and classy for spring. It’s feminine, not fussy, timeless, and also an ideal dress if you plan to take family photos. Add a simple sandal or a block heel and a woven bag.

    Tuckernuck Lyles Dress

I own this Lyles dress in red (I got it for fall family photos), and the fit is perfect for everything. The material isn’t super thick, but it’s also not thin. Maxi dresses can swallow my petite frame, but this fits perfectly. I went with an XS since I knew the fit was relaxed. I recommend sizing down if you’re on the fence. Since the belt is removable, it works for maternity as well.

    Tweed Jackie Dress

I love this Tweed Jackie Dress for Easter. It’s polished, and it comes in a ton of colors. I love the braided trim and button details! It’d be perfect with kitten heels or ballet flats.

Hill House Home Ellie Nap Dress

There’s no dress on earth that fits as perfectly in every life stage as Hill House. I got my first Hill House dress when I was postpartum with Charles, and it was one of the first things I put on that made me feel like myself. The smocking is secure and flattering, the midi length is easy to wear around kids, and it comes in ton of colors, and I’ve got my eye on the powder blue Lace Nap Dress this year. Hill House runs true to size. Quince also makes a look for less that’s really good. Read my Hill House dress review here.

    Tuckernuck Crochet Belclaire Dress

The Light Blue Crochet Belclaire Dress from Tuckernuck is another sweet and feminine mini. I can’t stand how cute the floral crochet is, and the green colorway is just as lovely. I appreciate that this dress can transition really well from brunch to an Easter Egg hunt since it’s comfortable and long enough!

    Casual Easter Outfits

Not a fan of dresses? No problem! There are plenty of casual Easter outfit ideas that are just as stylish:

    • White Jeans + Pastel Blouse – A classic, polished look that’s perfect for brunch or an egg hunt.
    • Skirt + Lightweight Sweater – A flowy midi skirt paired with a soft knit sweater is effortlessly chic.
    • Jumpsuit + Denim Jacket – A stylish alternative to dresses, especially in a floral or pastel print.
    • Casual Dress + Sneakers – Keep it relaxed with a breezy dress and comfy sneakers for a laid-back Easter vibe.
    Blue Peony Embroidered Minny Romper

This Blue Peony Embroidered Romper would be the cutest option for a children’s Easter egg hunt. I love a romper for practicality, and this embroidered option is polished and so classic. I’d style it with cute sneakers like these Momentum sneakers from Steve Madden.

Similar to the romper, but two separate pieces. Try the Cowrie Block Print Top here and the matching Ashford Pants here. I love wearing skirts. They are ideal, especially if you’re nursing. This Floral Embroidered Scalloped Maxi Skirt feels like spring and would be cute with any white blouse or a simple white tee – here are the best ones. Perfect for church, brunch, or an Easter egg hunt.
